Amar Goel-founded ad management and monetization technology startup PubMatic has brought on board Charles Schenck as vice president of publisher sales, the company announced today. Schenck joins the Redwood City-based startup from Krux Digital, a data management platform. Earlier, he was also part of the senior leadership team at American Express publishing. This is the third top management recruitment at PubMatic in six months. The company recently added Kirk McDonald from Time Digital as president and Steve Pantelick from Kodak Gallery as CFO.
In his new assignment, Schenck is expected to leverage his relationships and engage with large publishers. The company claims that in 2011, its revenues grew more than 50 per cent quarter-on-quarter. Its current clients include Huffington Post, eBay and TV Guide.
Serial entrepreneur Amar Goel, who is chairman of the company, and CEO Rajeev Goel co-founded PubMatic in 2006. A former McKinsey & Co executive, Amar Goel, who relocated here from New York in early 2006, is also the founder of online ad network Komli Media. PubMatic and Komli share Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Nexus Venture Partners and Helion Venture Partners as investors. Komli also has Norwest Venture Partners on board as an investor.

Mumbai-based online ad network Komli Media has raised $15 million in Series C funding from Norwest Venture Partners and existing investors Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners. The fresh capital will be used to expand its presence in India and the Asia Pacific region, said a press release. Niren Shah, managing director at Norwest (India) will join the Komli board.
The company claims that its business grew 600 per cent in 2010 and headcount increased from 51 to 115. Medianama reports that the company incurred losses of $1.5 million for the financial year ended March 31, 2010.
The latest round of venture capital takes Komli’s fund-raising tally to $28 million. It raised $7 million in its Series A in 2008 from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Helion and Nexus. Last June it picked a $6 million Series B round from the same investors.
The company, founded by former Microsoft executive Amar Goel in 2006, made two overseas acquisitions last year — UK-based online marketing company Indoor Media and Australia’s PostClick.
