Innoz hackathon creates 200-plus mobile apps

Seedfund-backed mobile search engine developer Innoz Technologies hosted its first 36-hour hackathon at its Koramangala, Bangalore, office on July 14 and 15. The event offered developers an opportunity to come with applications on the 55444 platform. At the end of the event, over 200 applications were created, of which ten were shortlisted and showcased.
Here are some of the highlights from the hackathon:
  • Over 100 developers participated from multiple cities.
  • Shortlisted apps include ‘#Expense’, an app that allows you to track your expenditure, ‘#mmony’, an app that allows users to access the matrimonial database via SMS and ‘#getblood’ and ‘#donor’ which act as two apps to get blood and donate blood.
  • The final four apps which won prizes included #Happ (search for apps within the app store), #Bunklog (help college students keep track of their attendance while bunking classes), #Cipher (app to encrypt messages for complete privacy) and #Awsm (for social networking via sms).
