NSRCEL-Incubated BrizzTV Raises Series A Round From Ojas

By | 21 February 2012 | 1:30

Bangalore-based digital media technology startup BrizzTV has raised an undisclosed Series A round of funding from Ojas Venture Partners, reports VCCircle quoting Ojas managing director Rajesh Srivathsa. The startup, currently being incubated at the NSRCEL incubator in IIM Bangalore, will use the funds to develop and launch new products.

Founded about two years ago by Amarendra Sahu, an IIM Bangalore student, and his friends Jitendra Jagadev and Krishnan Varadrajan, the company has developed a patent-pending platform that brings Internet content on to television screens. It started off with a grant of Rs 25 lakh from NSRCEL, which is primarily funded by Infosys co-founder NS Raghavan and Global International Ventures. Incidentally, Raghavan is also the chief investor in Ojas’s $35 million fund.

BrizzTV currently has a team of 10 people and future plans include expanding into other South Asian countries, including China. The investment deal with Ojas closed last year.
