Another business school joins the business plan contest bandwagon. IIM Ahmedabad is inviting entries for its first B-Plan Showcase, which is part of its maiden Venture Capital & Private Equity Conference scheduled for February 6th and 7th on-campus at the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).
A three-step evaluation process will shortlist ten business plans, which will be showcased to investors, industry experts and academicians at a closed-door session at the conference in February. There is no cash prize – the showcase is the prize. January 10th is the deadline for Stage 1, which involves the submission of ‘executive summaries’.
Since we’re on business school contests, a quick look at the latest at IIT Bombay’s Eureka! 2008. Last Saturday, December 27th, was the deadline for submitting detailed business plans. Results are scheduled to be announced on January 18th.
Meanwhile IIT Kharagpur is gearing up for a week-long jamboree called Entrepreneurship Week, beginning January 2nd. It ends with the school’s annual E-Summit on January 10th and 11th.
Also check out the startups in queue to demo at Headstart 2009. The website says 20 products have been selected for the demo pit out of which 12 will be shortlisted for live demos on stage on January 9th.
