Techies and their jargon! Anyhow, after BarCamps, MoMos, CoffeeClubs, here come Tweetups. The growing community on Twitter — a micro blogging platform that works on the web and mobile — gets together to tweet (talk) offline. Chennai has one next Sunday, courtesy the efforts of voracious tweeter Kiruba Shankar. The Tweetup is taking place Amethyst Cafe. Mumbai, I am happy to note, has a lead in this case. The city hosted its first one on December 29, 2007. The newspaper I quit recently did a piece on it — in fact, that piece encouraged me to sign up with Twitter. If you want more information on the stuff, Gaurav Mishra has a detailed post up on his blog.
